“Collaboration 4 Change” (C4C) is a global campaign that brings together individuals and organisations from the non-profit, government and corporate sectors to create positive social change. C4C seeks to address social issues that are of particular relevance to young people and uses music as the primary vehicle for communicating its messages.
C4C was conceived by two young people from opposite sides of the world – Nic Mackay (Australia) and Dawn Mlotshwa (South Africa) – who, despite their different backgrounds, were brought together by their love of music and their commitment to addressing important global issues. In 2008, Nic and Dawn established the non-profit organisation Key Change Music and developed the Collaboration 4 Change initiative.
Summary on last project:
The Choir performed 15 concerts in city and regional areas in VIC, NSW, ACT & WA. More like a musical than a concert, audiences were taken on a journey of perseverance, hope and inspiration. The Choir told the story of South Africa through a wide variety of musical styles including traditional Zulu, township jive, and songs from the apartheid era, gospel, R&B and soul.
Above all, the purpose of the “Collaboration 4 Change” South African Zulu Choir Tour was to create meaningful connections between people for the benefit of both Australians and South Africans.
